At mOTivate Teens, our Team is experienced in supporting teenagers with  neurodevelopmental differences including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, intellectual disability, anxiety disorders, and sensory processing differences. We provide practical, personalised OT support to help Teens build independence and confidence across all areas of life.

We walk alongside families to support the unique journey of their Teen, focusing on what matters most to them. Our work is grounded in respect, collaboration, and motivation - because when Teens feel supported, understood, and capable, they’re more likely to succeed.

Supporting Teens to build independence, confidence, and life skills

We know that Teens want to do what all young people do: connect with friends, enjoy music and gaming, make their own snacks, learn to drive, plan their futures, and live life on their terms. But for some Teens, everyday activities can come with extra challenges.

That’s where we come in!

We believe in person-centred therapy. This means your Teen leads the way. We help them identify their goals, then work together to build the skills they need to reach them.

The 1-on-1 sessions with mOTivate Teens align with real-world goals eg. getting ready for school, making friends, preparing a snack.

With effective goal setting, our 1-on-1 OT sessions will help your Teen learn more about :

  • How food, sleep and exercise can support them to do the things they want to do.

  • Tools to help them remember, organise and plan the things they need and want to do.

  • What they are good at and what they find tricky.

  • Regulation tools to help them manage their energy, thoughts, and feelings and remember what’s important.

  • Their social goals and needs so they can connect with others in a way that works for them.

We support Teens to participate in the everyday tasks that matter to them at home, at school, and in the community. Our 1-on-1 OT sessions are fun, flexible, and built around your Teen’s goals and interests.

Adolescence is a time of big change - physically, emotionally, and socially.

We work with the Teens to identify areas where they may need support  for example managing stress, their social skills or developing better organisational habits.

Our programs help Teens:

  • Build routines

  • Increase independence

  • Support emotional well-being

  • Prepare for life beyond school

We focus on what Teens can do, while supporting them through the areas they find hard.

In families where one child has additional needs, siblings may often take on more responsibility or feel overlooked. Encouraging your Teen to contribute to the family routine in small, meaningful ways can help promote a sense of belonging, purpose, and shared responsibility.

Even simple daily tasks, like filling water glasses and setting the table. There are valuable opportunities for your teen to build life skills, develop independence, and feel included in the family dynamic.

mOTivate Teens will work with you to provide ideas and strategies for adapting tasks to increase your Teen’s functional independence and social participation.
